Last Saturday, I checked out one of the IGDA (International Game Developers Association) Sacramento’s Progressive Game Jam events. Unlike a conventional game jam–where developers have a very compressed and limited time to create a game–the IGDA Sacramento folks hold an official game jam development event about once a month. The idea is that participating teams develop their games over the course of a year (the progressive part). Each month’s event is meant to provide teams a devoted day every few weeks to working further on their games. This all leading up to their April showcase and arcade.
For more information about the Sacramento chapter of IGDA, check out there website. They also have a Meetup page here. One of their upcoming events is a Demo Feedback Night, where teams and developers currently working on games can show where they are at and get some helpful feedback from the rest of the community.
Anyway, here are some photos from last Saturday’s Progressive Game Jam.
