Registration for the GameCamp! 2016 Game Jam Now Open

We are pleased to announce the GameCamp! Game Jam for 2016. This game jam is different from most others: you have the entire month of May to complete your projects, which should allow time for folks who want to learn new software or skills. Final games are due on May 31.
Teams that complete the game jam will receive shirts commemorating this achievement, other swag, and chances to win exciting prizes like Unity® Licenses, t-shirts, gift cards, and more!
Teams are limited to a maximum of 3 members, but platform and materials are unlimited! Board games, card games, and other analog forms are welcome. Your team can register for the jam here:
The GameCamp! Game Jam Launch Event is Friday, April 29, beginning at 5pm in the ModLab (234 Cruess Hall). In addition to unveiling the game jam theme, the launch event will also provide a space for participants to form and finalize teams, begin brainstorming game ideas, and enjoy free food.
The Launch Event is open to members of the UC Davis community interested in and supportive of game development here on campus. Participating in the game jam is not a requirement to attend, so come and celebrate game development here at UC Davis. There will be free food.
Check out the GameCamp! website for more information:
And please share with any of your interested friends, and forward to your networks.

Registration Open for Procedural Thinking Workshop – Thursday, March 3, 2016 – 6:10-8:00pm

Please join us for our next GameCamp! workshop about Procedural Thinking and game design. This workshop is particularly designed for those who have little to no programming experience to discover what it means to think in procedural terms–to think a little more like a computer. As part of this workshop, participants will run an analog version of a popular digital video game using physical pieces of candy to learn more about how to begin transforming game rules into software code. You can see documentation from last year’s version of this workshop here.
